Dilip J. Mathew, MD, FACC, FHRS, is Board Certified in Cardiology & Cardiac Electrophysiology and has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 2004. He has devoted his practice entirely to the management of heart rhythm disorders.
Dr. Mathew is involved in all aspects of the management of cardiac arrhythmias. He performs implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators as well as electrophysiology studies and ablations.
He has a special interest in lead extraction and ablation therapies for atrial fibrillation. He has received training for AF ablation at the University of Bordeaux, France where it was first developed. Dr. Mathew has performed nearly 5,000 of these complex cardiac ablations.
My goal is to ensure each patient’s heart finds its normal rhythm again, providing for a better quality of life.

Dr. Mathew was born in India and has been in the Tampa Bay area for over a decade. He volunteered for Project Pacer, performing implants in India. Dr. Mathew’s hobbies include film making, literature and reading fiction books.
